Stone Harbor Beach Opening Ceremony
and First Annual Sock-burning!!!
sockburning

Thursday, May 26th, 4PM at the 95th Street Beach, sink your toes into the sand for the first time this year as Stone Harbor ceremonially opens its beautiful beaches for the 2011 summer season, a full day earler than other beach destinations.
Join members of  Stone Harbor's beach patrol and Mayor Suzanne Walters as they set a ceremonial wreath afloat upon the water, signaling the start of a bright new beach season and then celebrate by burning your socks in a beach fire pit and put on your flip flops!

The  Stone Harbor ROA  (Realty Owners Association) and Stone Harbor Loins Club will present Mayor Walters and the Borough with  their generous donation of two new beach wheelchairs immediately following the beach opening.

Check out the beautiful new landscaping on the 200 block of 96th Street.
It was made possible by a SH Borough, SH Chamber of Commerce, and Barber Landscaping partnership.
Lovely!

Memorial Day Weekend is Almost Here!

There will be a lot of activity during Memorial Day weekend.

Volunteers will be needed at various times during the Summer to assist with pool maintenance and office duties.  If you are interested in learning more, please consider attending one of the following classes on Saturday, 5/28.

1.  Pool School - Saturday, 5/28 at 9am.  Meet at the pool house.  Learn all the ins and outs of keeping our pool in tip top shape from our local expert (Gary).

A sign up sheet will be available with the days that we need volunteers to help.  Remember, the success of JSH depends on volunteers.  Any help that you can contribute is greatly appreciated.

Also on Saturday (5/28), there will be a social hour starting at 5:30....listen for the bell!

On Sunday (5/29) there will be a forum meeting at 1pm in the pavilion.  All are welcome to attend.  Don has been hosting these forum meetings for the past few years as a way to keep the lines of communication open.  Please attend if you can.

Also on Sunday there will be a pot luck supper at 6:15 in the pavilion.  Please sign up in the pavilion.  All are welcome!
