Important Campground Info - PLEASE READ
We are sad to report that the metal thieves have struck JSH for a second time. We have discovered in the last few days that a large number of the trailer power cords have been cut and stolen, presumably to recycle the wires. We are trying to get the word out to as many people as possible who have their trailers stored at JSH because the power cord is going to need to be repaired before you can plug in.
Jim and Tina Davis have walked the campground this weekend and provided a list of trailers that are confirmed to have cut power cords. In the interest of privacy, we are listing the site numbers below instead of names. If your trailer was moved to the field for storage, and it was labeled with your site number, we have also listed it by site number below.
If your site number does not appear there is still a chance that your cord could be cut. It was a big effort to survey the entire campground and it's possible that a few trailers may have been over-looked. A special thanks to Jim and Tina for putting this list together. They also provided the pictures as an example of the damage.
The campground has filed a police report.

The Countdown Begins...
We are just about 1 month away from opening day at Jersey Shore Haven, and it can't come soon enough!
2012 SEASONAL PAYMENT DUE: If you haven't already, please send the balance due for your seasonal site.
OPENING DAY IS SATURDAY APRIL 28, 2012: However, as we did last year, the park will open 1 week prior for those people that are willing to volunteer their time and effort to help clean up the camp of fallen limbs and branches, leaves, etc. While it is a great opportunity to get your rig on-site and opened up for the season, it is NOT the time for putting up screenhouses - this time will be a work week.
FIRE RINGS: In January uninvited visitors known as "Scrappers" came into Jersey Shore Haven Campground to perform their selfish dirty deed of removing all the fireplace rings (truck split wheel rims) to take to some re-cycle scrap yard for profit. Times are really tough, to sell stolen metal for $.12 per pound minus the high cost of fuel to get it there. Now what will be the cost per pound to buy replacements if they are even available? Does anyone know of a trucking company that might have truck rims to scrap? Thank you to Jim Maier for this blog contribution.
